Lasallian Identity
The Department of Education is dedicated to preparing outstanding teachers and administrators for P-12 public and private schools and districts. Teaching and learning were at the heart of the work of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, founder of the Christian Brothers and patron saint of teachers.
In this legacy, a dedication and commitment to teaching and learning continue to be at the core of the work of Lewis University. A dedication to Developing Learning Communities guides the work of the Department of Education as it prepares teachers and administrators for working in today’s schools.
