I am getting my Mater’s in Secondary Education.

I became a Residence Life Coordinator because I really enjoyed my experience as a resident assistant. I knew that I wanted to continue working with students in higher education. I hope to make connections with my residents and help them navigate through obstacles or connect them to the appropriate resources that will help them succeed in college.

If I were a cartoon character, I would be Stewie Griffin from Family Guy. Stewie is an intelligent human being and is often underestimated by adults because he’s a child. I admire how clever Stewie is and although he’s a genius, he still has child-like tendencies. Additionally, like Stewie, who likes to pull pranks on Brian, I too love pranking close friends around me. I feel that Stewie and I are both very playful and have a childish sense of humor.

I wanted to become a Resident Assistant to take on a leadership role and have a positive impact on campus here at Lewis. The RA’s I have had in the past have all been great and I look forward to helping residents in the same way they helped me.

If you could be any fictional character who would you be and why?
I would say Iron Man because he’s really smart, super rich, and can basically do anything he wants. Also so I could have the Iron Man suit.

If you could be any fictional character who would you be and why?

Why did you want to become a Resident Assistant?
The community that is created within our campus through events in ResLife has provided me with lasting friendships that I cherish from my experience as resident my freshman year. I wanted to be that bridge for other students and help them make those necessary connections to build a supportive, and safe community for them to enjoy!

If you could be any fictional character who would you be and why?
I would easily be Aragorn from the Lord of the Rings. He is not only loyal to his love, an elven woman, Arwen but also to the fellowship. Helping, guiding, and fighting alongside his fellow men, on an adventure through Middle Earth, shows his courage, honor, and dependability. Additionally, following through to help his people by claiming his birthright and assuming the throne as king of Gondor, shows his righteousness. These qualities portrayed through this fanciful character, along with his witty banter of course, match my personality well. For these reasons I would chose to be Aragorn from the Lord of the Rings.

As a Resident Assistant, I have the unique opportunity to get to know a significant number of the Lewis residents and work in unison with the other RAs to ensure that their on-campus experiences are positive and memorable. Through monthly events, decorating the dorms, and daily interactions, we can work to cultivate a welcoming environment for everyone.

I am studying Elementary Education with a Special Education endorsement.

I have worked with Residence Life staff in the past as a Conference Assistant (many of which were Residence Life Coordinators). My time as a CA was one of the best during my undergrad. I wanted to come back to Lewis to become a teacher and the opportunity presented itself at the perfect moment. I also have loved my time in the business world managing people and helping them be their best, so being an RLC scratches that itch as well.

If I could be any fictional character, I would be Gandalf the Grey from Lord of the Rings. He's a guy that has the responsibility of the world on his shoulders, but he's able to stay calm and collected as things crash down around him. He always has faith in his ability and insight to carry him (and the people who follow him) through. I really admire that kind of determination and foresight.

Why did you want to become a Resident Assistant?
I am currently a senior so I feel I have grown and matured during my time at Lewis University. I want to take that experience and be a mentor to students that are younger than me, so i thought being an RA will provide me the opportunity to interact with more students and guide them throughout college in a positive way. Whether it is being there for students emotionally or just simply spreading my knowledge and being an honest friend towards them.

If you could be any fictional character who would you be and why?
If I can be any fictional character I would be T'challa The King and protector of the fictional African nation of Wakanda in Black Panther. Not only he is exceptionally athletic, a skilled fighter, and the chief of a wealthy nation that has technology years ahead of the rest of the world. He is a scientist, he has a PhD in physics, he's an inventor, and his characteristics closely resemble myself because I too am both athletic and very smart.
