Counseling Services has transitioned to offer telemental health support services by video or phone meeting option. Please call 815-836-5455, leave a message to schedule an appointment or fill out a request for information form and you will receive follow-up during Center business hours M-F, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. During the summer, Center services are provided by appointment only.


Counselors will be able to assist you with resources and referral supports if needed. Seek additional help when necessary.

Counseling Services is staffed by mental health professionals dedicated to assisting students with concerns that are impacting their academic success or quality of life. Services are free for all registered and enrolled Lewis University students.

Mental Health Screening Programs

Counseling can be a helpful support for a variety of issues including but not limited to the following:

  • stress
  • anxiety
  • depression
  • relationships
  • trauma and victimization
  • alcohol or other drug abuse
  • grief and loss
  • social and interpersonal challenges
  • self-esteem
  • identity development and acceptance
  • eating and sleeping concerns
  • overall wellness, self-care and development of coping skills.

Services are confidential unless student has given consent through a Release of Information or there is an imminent risk of harm to self or others.

Hours for Counseling Services
August to May Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm, by appointment or walk-in urgent care
June and July Tuesday & Thursday 8:30am – 4:30pm, by appointment or walk-in urgent care

Center is closed during Lewis University holidays and winter break (December 24 through January 1).
