Cyber Defense Team Places 3rd in 3-State Competition

Lewis University’s Cyber Defense Team Places 3rd in 3-State Competition

On February 17, Lewis University’s Cyber Defense Club placed third in the three-state qualifier competition of the Collegiate Cyber Defense Competiton (CCDC).  

As the third-place winners of the Illinois, Wisconsin and Missouri two-year and four-year colleges and universities, the Lewis University team will compete in the February 24 Wildcard Qualifier for the Midwest Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition

During the state-level competition, the team spent eight hours defending a mock business network against simulated cyber-attacks. The judges introduced network enhancement and upgrade challenges, assessed the teams’ performance, scored their efforts, and provided essential support throughout the event.

Dr. Jason Perry, associate professor of engineering, computing, and mathematical sciences and director of Cybersecurity and IT programs, serves as the team's faculty mentor.
