Milca Jimenez Completes Competitive Accounting Internship Program

Milca Jimenez of Crest Hill, Ill., completed the award-winning Mary T. Washington Wylie Internship Preparation Program held virtually January 3-5 and presented by  The Illinois CPA Society and its charitable partner, the CPA Endowment Fund of Illinois.

Jimenez, who is studying accounting and finance at Lewis University, received customized training, access to interviews, and CPA exam guidance through a focus on motivational speeches, panel discussions, interview coaching, and resume advice. She also received a $500 scholarship to aid in educational expenses. 

The highly competitive program offered Jimenez and 40 other scholars to engage in various interviews with major accounting representatives from Abbott, Baker Tilly US LLP, McDonald’s Corp., Grant Thornton LLP, and more.

The Mary T. Washington Wylie Internship Preparation Program prepares Illinois-based racial and ethnic minority college students interested in pursuing careers in accounting and the certified public accountant credential.
