Flyers Win Own Intercollegiate Tournament Title

The Lewis University women's golf team picked up its second win of the season Tuesday (Oct. 5), taking home first place at its own Flyer Intercollegiate at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club - Ravines Course.

The Flyers opened play Monday shooting a 311 and followed that Tuesday with a 313 for a 624 total (+48) on the par-72 course. They beat out second-place Southern Indiana (638) and third place Upper Iowa (639).

Kasey Kane (Texarkana, Tex./Texarkana) led the Flyers with rounds of 75 and 78 for a 153 total (+9), good for third place overall. Morgan McNulty (Belvidere, Ill./Belvidere) added rounds of 78 and 77 for a 155 total (+11), which tied her for fifth place overall. Kendall Farm (Carol Stream, Ill./West Chicago) had rounds of 81 and 77 for a 158 total to tie for 9th place, while Caiya Dewitt (Zeeland, Mich./West Ottawa) shot rounds of 79 and 81 for a 160 and a tie for 17th. Sarah Breslin (Du Quoin, Ill./Pinckneyville) was right behind in a tie for 19th place after rounds of 79 and 82 for a 161 total.

Molly St. Clair (Evansville, Ind./Evansville Central) (81-84-165), Cherokee Hammonds (McKee, Ky./Jackson County) (87-80-167) and Hannah Bowie (Brush Prairie, Wash./Hockinson) (94-89-183) competed as individuals for the Flyers.

Lewis returns to the links Oct. 16 for the Panther Invitational at Gull Lake View Resort in Augusta, Mich.
