USA Volleyball announced on Wednesday (June 5) that Lewis University incoming freshman Kevin Kauling has been selected to the 2019 Boys Youth National Training Team that includes 24 of the top boys volleyball players in the United States under the age of 19.

Twelve players will be chosen from the team to compete at the 2019 FIVB Under-19 World Championships on Aug. 21-30 in Tunisia. The team will be coached by Pepperdine head coach David Hunt.

The team will train at the USAV High Performance Championships on July 13-22 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

"It's exciting for Kevin to be part of the USA pipeline," Lewis head men's volleyball coach Dan Friend said. "He has worked extremely hard to get there. We wish him the best and are proud of him."

The Flyers finished the 2019 season 26-6, won the MIVA regular season and tournament championships and advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Tournament.
