Flyers Record 10 Top 10 Finishes at Dr. Keeler Invitational

Lewis University's women's track and field team recorded 10 top 10 finishes at the Dr. Keeler Invitational the past two days at North Central College in Naperville, Ill. The Flyers picked up event wins in the hammer throw, shot put and 4x100 meter relay.

Lewis' 4x100 meter relay team of Cierra Pulliam (Plainfield, Ill./Romeoville), Carrie Johnson (Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake HS), Jada Hoffman (Chicago, Ill./Kenwood Academy) and Joelle Ataessien (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young HS) secured a provisional qualifying mark to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a time of 46.40 seconds.

Kianna Clark (Lake in the Hills, Ill./Crystal Lake South) and Lane Kadlec (Lockport, Ill./Lockport) finished first and third respectively in the hammer throw. Clark hit a provisional qualifying mark with a throw of 55.53 meters (182'2") while Kadlec also hit a provisional mark with a toss of 52.91 meters (173'7"). Clark also competed at the University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse Eagle Open where she took second in the hammer throw with a heave of 55.61 meters (182'5") which is a personal best for her.

Kadlec also won the shot put at North Central with a toss of 15.15 meters (49'8.5").

Pulliam and Anna Laudizio (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) finished second and fifth respectively in the triple jump on Friday. Pulliam secured a provisional mark to nationals with a jump of 11.96 meters (39'3") while Laudizio's best jump was 11.78 meters (38'7.75"). Pulliam also finished fourth in the long jump with a jump of 5.54 meters (18'2.25").

Jada Hoffman (Chicago, Ill./Kenwood Academy) took third in the 100 meters with a time of 12.17 seconds.

Teresa Zaragueta (Spain) recorded a third place finish in the 400 meters with a time of 57.67 seconds.

Kassady Learn (San Diego, CA/Rancho Bernardo) finished ninth on Thursday in the 10,000 meter run with a personal best time of 37:43.37.

The Flyers will now wait to see how many athletes they'll send to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships (May 23-25) in Kingsville, Texas.
