Lewis Men's Basketball to Host NCAA Midwest Regional

The Lewis Flyer men's basketball team secured an At-Large bid and the NCAA Midwest Region's top seed to the 2018-19 NCAA Tournament. The Flyers will now host a seven-game regional tournament in Romeoville, Ill., starting Saturday, March 16.

Lewis' first-round game against No. 8 seed Grand Valley is scheduled for Saturday, March 16 at 5 p.m. at Neil Carey Arena. The second round will be on Sunday, March 17 and the Sweet 16 round will be on Tuesday, March 19. The National Championship Elite Eight will be held in Evansville, Ind., starting on Wednesday, March 27. This will be the Flyers first time hosting the regional since the 2003-04 season.

Lewis is making its 16th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and the fifth appearance under head coach Scott Trost. Trost, who is in his 13th season, led the Flyers to their first GLVC regular season title since the 2003-04 season. Kendale McCullum (Elgin, Ill./Elgin Larkin) was named the GLVC Player and Defensive Player of the Year and earned First Team All-GLVC honors for the second time in his career.

Tickets can be purchased online starting at 10 a.m., Monday morning. All seating for the regional will be general admission. Single session tickets can be purchased for $10 each for adults and $5 for students. Children 2 and under are free per NCAA policy.

Sunday, March 17
5 p.m.: Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2
7:30 p.m.: Winner Game 3 vs. Winner Game 4

Tuesday, March 19
7 p.m.: Championship Game
