Lewis Women’s Golf Has Five Named As WGCA All-American Scholars

The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) announced their list of All-American Scholars which included five members of the Lewis University women's golf team.

"I am very proud of our women's team." Lewis head women's golf coach Skip Steffey said. "While we had a few struggles on the course and missed the post-season, they "aced-it" in the classroom once again. Every year the women find a way to time-manage successfully and academically achieve great things."

Senior Katie Wortman (Minneapolis, Minn./St. Anthony Village) and junior Madison Hill (Pekin, Ill./Pekin Community) each earned the honor for the third time in their respective careers while senior Hannah Schultz (North Prairie, Wis./Mukwonago) made the list for the second time. Freshmen Kasey Kane (Texarkana, Tex./Texas) and Alyson Shuman (Palisade, Colo./Palisade) earned the honor for the first time.

In order to qualify for the All-American Scholar Team golfers are required to have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.

Kane finished with a 3.98, Shuman with 3.64, Hill had a 3.63 while Wortman and Schultz each finished with a 3.53.
