Lewis’ Riah Rathe and Jack Speers Named USILA All-Americans

The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) announced the 2023 Blantant Division II All-Americans along with other award winners Friday (May 26) as Riah Rathe (Chanhassen, MN/Chanhassen HS) and Jack Speers (Glenview, IL/Glenview North HS) were both named All-Americans on the Honorable Mention team. The duo becomes the first two All-Americans in program history. 

Rathe played and started in 15 matches for Lewis in goal which earned him All-GLVC First Team Honors and All-USILA Third Team Honors.

Rathe was also the GLVC Goalkeeper of the Year after his standout performance which he recorded 196 saves and ranked fifth in NCAA DII with a .585 save percentage.

The goalie also captured GLVC Defensive Player of the Week twice during the season during the weeks of March 6 and 13. 

Speers saw the field in 15 contests for Lewis while earning All-GLVC First Team Honors along with All-USILA Second Team.

The graduate student scored 24 goals with 24 goals with nine assists while also picking up 12 groundballs.
