Lewis Men's Golf Finishes First at Battle of the Beach

Lewis University men's golf finished the Battle at the Beach tournament Saturday (March 11) in first place with 608 (309, 299).

Lewis was led by Braden Bentley (Colorado Springs, Colo./Mesa Ridge) who had 149 (75, 74) finishing first. Jack Korzon (Downers Grove, Ill.) took second finishing with 151 (78, 73). Austin Buente (Troy, Ill./Triad) (79, 75) and Ryan Ballard (Germantown Hills, Ill./Metamora) (77, 77) finished tied for fourth with 154. Tied for ninth was Trent Smith (Pontiac, Ill./Pontiac Township) who had 158 (76, 82).

"Braden played solid golf for all 36 holes in his second collegiate win, also leading the men to a first place finish." Lewis head men's golf coach Skip Steffey said. "This is another win for the men's team that gives them a great start for the spring season."

The Flyers will next compete in the SVSU Spring Invitational March 18-19.
