Because of the rapidly evolving public health crisis caused by Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19), Lewis University will continue all online instruction through the end of the Spring 2020 semester.

All our residence halls will be closed at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27 through Saturday, August 1. Resident students are required to move out of their residence hall rooms and remove all of their belongs by Friday, March 27.

Only those students with special circumstances will be allowed to remain in the residence halls. As indicated in prior correspondence, today is the last day for residents to complete the required form if they request to stay on campus after Friday, March 27.

Housing Exemption Form (COVID-19)

Until 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 27, students may check out of the residence halls between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. daily. Being sensitive to public health guidelines, we ask that you minimize the number of individuals entering the residence hall. Once belongings have been removed from the room, room and mail keys can be deposited in the key lock boxes in each residence hall lobby.

If you have already collected your belongings, please mail your room and mail keys to the Office of Residence Life at
One University Parkway
Unit 1201
Romeoville, IL 60446

Please continue to check your Lewis University email account throughout the rest of the semester. We will continue to share important information, regarding housing, dining and Fall 2020 room selection. Credits for room and board charges will be calculated on a pro-rated basis. This credit will be applied to student accounts by the end of the Spring 2020 semester.

We realize that this decision creates many challenges for each of our residents and their families. We thank you for your patience and understating as we navigate these unprecedented circumstances. We apologize for the multiple messages with different deadlines in the last few days. We are working hard behind the scenes to bring our community back to normalcy. However, these current circumstances are beyond all of our control.

Residents with any questions can feel free to call the Office of Residence Life at 815-836-5581 or contact us via email at reslife@lewisu.edu. As always, if you have an urgent matter please contact Lewis University Police Department at 815-836-5911.

We congratulate our graduating students and thank them for being part of our Lewis community. We look forward to being your home next academic year as our university returns to face-to-face instruction. As you think about your plans for next year, please remember our room selection process is continuing on its regular schedule. Room selection began on Monday.
