For students who already hold a bachelor’s degree but lack some of the prerequisite coursework required of Medical Schools and their respective entrance exams, Lewis’ Biomedical Science program offers the perfect academic preparation.

This program serves as a springboard not only for those looking at the MCAT exam and Medical School, but those looking to enter any higher-level health profession education fields, including Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry and more.

Adult Learner Discount

This program is offered at our 2015-16 discounted tuition rate of $600/credit hour for adult learners, making earning your Biomedical Science degree even more affordable.

Admission Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Submit official transcripts from all colleges attended (3.0 GPA)
  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA through coursework at Lewis

Application Deadline

  • For a fall start date, application deadline is June 1st before the fall semester
  • For a spring start date, application deadline is November 1st before the spring semester

Biomedical Science Certificate Program

Students who aspire to enter medical school or pursue graduate-level education in the health sciences may complete a certificate program in lieu of the Bachelor of Arts with 32 semester hours of advisor-approved coursework from major-level offerings in the departments of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.  All laboratories associated with lecture courses will be required. 

This program will help students prepare for the next step in their education by giving them the tools they need to become more competitive for entry into medical, dental or other professional schools. In addition, the faculty and staff will provide guidance to assist students with applications and interview preparation.
