Electronic Mail

All students are assigned a Lewis email address. This address will be used by the University for official business and communications. Students, faculty and staff members are expected to check their official email account on a frequent basis in order to stay current with the University's communications.  Outlook Web Access provides access to your Lewis email account via the Internet.  Each student account holds 20 MB and each faculty/staff account holds 50 MB of information in the inbox, sent items and deleted items collectively.

To Access Your Lewis Email Account:

  • Username:

    • The standard format is:  First 6 letters of your last name plus first 2 letters of your first name plus "@lewisu.edu."  For example: a login for Mark Johnson would be johnsoma@lewisu.edu.

    • If your last name is less than 6 characters, use your entire last name plus the first two letters of your first name and add “@lewisu.edu” - For example: the username for Mark Sky would be skyma@lewisu.edu.

    • Occasionally, because of duplication, usernames don’t quite follow the pattern. The second ‘rule’ for generating a username is: first 6 characters of your last name plus first initial plus middle initial plus "@lewisu.edu." For Example: Since Mark Johnson is already johnsoma, Matthew L Johnson might be johnsoml@lewisu.edu.

  • Password:  Your Lewis ID number (found on your Lewis ID card or course schedule).
