Computer Requirements

Listed below are the minimum requirement specifications for computers that will be allowed to connect to the Lewis University network beginning Fall 2006.

CPU
- 850MHz or higher
Operating Systems
- Windows 2000, XP, Vista
- Mac OSX
Memory Requirements
- Windows 2000 - 128MB of available RAM
- Windows XP – 256MB of available RAM
- Mac - 256MB
Hard Drive Space
- At Least 1GB free
Network Interface Card
Optional
- Wireless Network Card to access the Lewis University wireless network

We RECOMMEND purchasing a PC with the following specifications:

Minimum of 1.5 GHz
RAM: Minimum of 512 MB (XP and Windows 2000)
Hard Drive: Minimum of 40 GB

Student computers that are not being used on the Lewis University network will not be required to meet these specifications (i.e., off-campus computers of commuter students, on-campus standalone computers without Internet access, computers that are accessing only the wireless hot spots with a wireless network card 802.11a/b/g).
