Tuition Refund Policy

Refund schedule for full and complete withdraw from the University:

  1. Through the 1st week of the semester 100%
  2. Within the 2nd week of the semester 50%
  3. After the 2nd week of the semester None

Tuition refunds are based on the above only. Neither the number of class meetings nor student attendance is used in computing the refund. Students will remain responsible for all charges, including late fees, unless they follow proper procedures for officially withdrawing from Lewis University, and do so within the published deadlines for refund.

Refund for Course Drop

Traditional Undergraduate and Graduate tuition charged at the per-credit hour rate will follow the above refund schedule. There will be no refund for coursework dropped after the 2nd week of the semester. Seminars must be dropped two days before the start date to receive a 100% refund. A seminar that is registered for, but not attended, will not be considered officially dropped, and will be charged full tuition.

A fixed rate of tuition is charged for 12-18 hours; dropping coursework will not affect direct tuition cost. Students dropping below 12 hours during the refund period will be billed at the per credit hour rate. Students should consult the Office of Financial Aid Services before dropping coursework, as course drop may affect the student's Financial Aid award.
