Tatiana de Lima Machado (B.A.)
My name is Tatiana and I am an International Student coming from Sao Paulo, Brazil. I am currently pursuing my M.A. in Organizational Leadership at Lewis University. I feel very strongly about the Lasallian mission, and this led me to believe Lewis was the best fit for my Graduate studies.
Being an international student, I feel honored to work as a Graduate Assistant helping other international students to know more about Lewis University and its Lasallian principle. My main goal is to make other students feel as welcome as I was when I first arrived at Lewis on January 2012. Before working with ISS, I was a Graduate Assistant with University Advancement, and I learned a lot in that department.
I majored in Portuguese and English in 2010 from University of Sao Paulo. In 2009, I had the opportunity to go to Bishop's University in Quebec as an exchange student. In Canada, I studied American literature, cinema and French. My undergraduate studies include Brazilian, Portuguese, Latin-American, English and American literature, translation, and linguistics.
I work closely with the International Student Association, and my passions include reading, meeting new people, and learning about new cultures and languages.
My name is Yiwei Zhou and I am a Student Employee with International Students Services at Lewis. I come from Nanjing, China and started my undergraduate curriculum in 2010 here. I am majoring in Aviation Administration with a minor in Aircraft Dispatch.
I enjoy being an international student at Lewis University as the school offers me high quality education with a charming small community atmosphere. I am enthusiastic about aviation, and I believe that the Lewis University Aviation Program will help me to succeed in my career plan. I am honored and humbled to work with the ISS Office. I love to make international students feel comfortable studying at Lewis University and provide additional assistance to them based on my college experience.
As well as an international student, I am also a player on the Lewis University Men's Volleyball Team, which is one of the top 10 NCAA men's volleyball teams in the United States. As a student athlete, I like and appreciate the opportunity of competing collegiate volleyball at a very high level, while maintaining the balance between academics and sports.
