TB Testing Information

Tests are administered free of charge to all students in the Center for Health and Counseling and must be read by a Center RN 48-72 hours after administration. For this reason, we do not administer tests on Thursdays.

NURSING MAJORS

All nursing students are required to have a Tb skin test on file with the College of Nursing and Health Professions prior to starting clinical.

A 2-step procedure is performed for sophomore 1 nursing students. This test includes 2 separate tests given within 10-21 days. Junior and Senior nursing students are required to have them done on a yearly basis.

EDUCATION MAJORS

Official documentation of a negative TB test must be on file in the College of Education prior to student teaching.

For your convenience, we recommend students do not request TB testing during Doctor Hours on Mondays from 1:00-3:00 p.m.
