Are you interested in accelerating your progress towards completing your degree?  Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) is the process of earning college credit from learning developed through work, training, volunteer experience, self-directed learning projects, and personal life.    If you have space in your degree plan for elective credit and meet the prerequisites for PLA, you may be able to pursue PLA for University Studies Credit.   In order to pursue PLA for University Studies (elective credit), students must attend a 1 ½ hour PLA Orientation Workshop and enroll in a 1-credit hour course in portfolio preparation, “Prior Learning Assessment Seminar.”  After the course, you will be able to write a portfolio about the college level learning you have acquired from experience.  The portfolio will contain an autobiographical essay, letters of support, essays about your prior learning, and documentation of your past experiences.  If you are interested in completing a portfolio, please plan
