Do you need general elective credits?  Want to accelerate your degree progress and reduce tuition costs?  Prior Learning Assessment may be the answer.  The amount of credits you can earn will be determined by the experience and skill you have gained throughout your lifetime and to find out where you might stand, you will need to attend one of the free orientations (see below). Rebecca Kowall did.  Rebecca graduated in May 2013 with a Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management and a minor in Business Administration. She took full advantage of the PLA opportunity, and because of this, she reached her intended goal to graduate by May 2013.  She successfully earned 21 general elective credits, which saved her just over $11,000 in tuition. Here’s what she has to say about Prior Learning Assessment: The decision to enroll in the PLA course was one of the best decisions I have made

I was born and raised on the West Side of Chicago. I enjoy cooking, volunteering, traveling and reading. I am the mother of 2 beautiful children; TJ & Joyre. I am an adult student who returned to college 19 years later only to excel to heights I could not have imagined. In 2007 when I was laid off my job of 12 years, I didn’t hesitate to pray and ask God for direction. My desire over the years had been to complete my college education, but when I continued to earn more and more money, the desire for obtaining my degree was suppressed way back in my mind. Being laid off was the opportunity for God to give me the desire of my heart, it was the opportunity for me to trust him and trust that my being laid off was not a punishment, but a gentle push to get
