I was born and raised on the West Side of Chicago. I enjoy cooking, volunteering, traveling and reading. I am the mother of 2 beautiful children; TJ & Joyre. I am an adult student who returned to college 19 years later only to excel to heights I could not have imagined. In 2007 when I was laid off my job of 12 years, I didn’t hesitate to pray and ask God for direction. My desire over the years had been to complete my college education, but when I continued to earn more and more money, the desire for obtaining my degree was suppressed way back in my mind. Four ways to earn credit through Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) is the process of earning college credit from learning you’ve developed in your work, training, volunteer experiences, self-directed learning projects, and personal life. Credit is not granted for experience but for the college-level learning that is documented.
