Illinois Conference of Women Legislators Scholarship

The Illinois Conference of Women Legislators (COWL) is offering for the 2015-16 school year a one-year undergraduate scholarship to women who are 25 years of age or older.  The applicant must plan on attending an accredited, on-campus school in Illinois and take a minimum of six semester hours of coursework.  Classes that are taken online will not be eligible for assistance.  Applicants who show leadership through community service will be given special attention. COWL is offering the scholarship to provide women who may have had to postpone their education due to family, economic hardship or other reasons.  The scholarship can be used for tuition, books, and school fees up to $2,500. If you have ever wished to travel, Lewis University is here to help. The university’s study abroad department offers multiple programs for students to travel and study in a variety of places. Current programs include trips to Italy, Costa Rica, London, Greece, Las Vegas, Nogales and Washington D.C. Chris Swanson, the director of the study abroad program encourages all students to apply. The opportunity to study in a different city or country is once in a lifetime. “There are a lot of exciting things going on that provide learning opportunities for adult students to enjoy and benefit from travel study,” Swanson said. Great Awareness Monologues is offering a $1,000 cash scholarship for 2015.  The scholarship may be used for any documented expenses during 2015 while pursuing your degree. Any graduate or undergraduate student that has been accepted or attends a university may apply. To be considered for the scholarship you must read and follow all instructions.  No exceptions will be allowed. For the Fall 2015 semester, the Lewis University Bookstore Committee will be awarding a limited number of book scholarships.  To be eligible you must be able to demonstrate financial need and have a minimum of 2.5 GPA.
