Meet the Student Workers



Kiantra Thornton (SORC Supervisor)


Year: Junior

Hobbies: Cheering, Shopping, and Playing Tennis

On Campus Involvement: I have been a part of the Lewis University Cheerleading team for 3 years now. I am one of the supervisors of the SORC office, and I am the Vice President of Junior Class Council.

How long have you worked for SORC: My favorite part of being in res life, is knowing that 20 years from now my residents will still remember me being their RA, because of the things I did that impacted their college experience.

A little bit more about me: I am currently live in Bolingbrook IL, but I am from Springfield, Ohio. This is my third year at Lewis University and I really like it. I am a very outgoing person and I like to take each day and make it memorable.



Kenneth Bucz Jr


Year: Senior

Hobbies: Airplanes, Baseball, Working Out, Swimming, Football, and Hanging with Friends

On Campus Involvement: I am a Resident Assistant in Fitzpatrick Hall, a member of Alpha Eta Rho Aviation Fraternity, Member of the American Association of Airport Executives and a Greeter at Mass

Me and SORC: This is my second stint with SORC, I started here my freshman year and worked through sophomore year and am currently working here for my senior year. I really like interacting with all the students from all the different organizations on campus.

A little bit more about me: I am a diehard Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears and Arizona Diamondbacks fan. I am always outside throwing around the baseball or the football and I get easily distracted by airplanes flying through the sky.



Nicole Ramsay


Year: Freshman

Hobbies: Running, Shopping, and watching my shows.

On Campus Involvement: I stay very busy with a heavy class schedule and working in SORC!

How long have you worked for SORC: This is my first semester working at SORC and I like the people the most their fun to be around.

A little bit more about me: I am a nice and outgoing person. My favorite things to do are eating and hang out with friends. I've played pretty much every sport in my life until I started working.






Carl John Gan


Year: Senior

Hobbies: Sports

On Campus Involvement: I work for SORC, but I'm also a member of SNA.

How long have you worked at SORC, and what you like most about it: : I have been working at SORC for 1 year and I enjoy the people I work with. We have an amazing working environment!

A little bit more about me: I was born in the Philippines and raised in Chicago, IL. I am currently studying Nursing here at Lewis University.






Jenny Vargas


Year: Junior

How long have you worked in SORC: This is my second semester working in SORC. What I like most about it is the diversity that we have in this office among student workers. We might be culturally different but we all get along and care for each other.

A little bit more about me: I was born in Mexico and came to live in Chicago since the age of 6 years old. Throughout life I have learned to have a positive attitude in order to achieve my goals. My major at Lewis is Biology and I am keeping a positive attitude to reach my goal of attending Medical School! I love spending time with my family, listening to Spanish and English music and dancing.

Hobbies: I like to play football, soccer, swim, and just relax with friends.

On Campus Involvement: Big Brother, Big Sister mentor

How Long have you working in SORC: This is my first semester working in SORC.

A little bit more about me: I am very easy to get along with. When around new people, I am usually quiet but as soon as I get comfortable I am fun to be around. My friends look at me as the comedian in the group.
