Seven Lewis squads earn 2011-12 Team Academic All-GLVC Awards

The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced on Tuesday (June 12) that Lewis University has been feted with seven 2011-12 Team Academic All-GLVC Awards for the second-straight season. The GLVC recognizes each team from member institutions that have maintained a 3.30 grade point average for the academic year.

Overall, Lewis tied for fourth in the GLVC with seven teams. Drury led the charge with 10 squads receiving awards.

The Lewis men's cross country team had the highest GPA of any men's cross country team in the conference, checking in with a 3.52 grade point average. The highest Flyer GPA belonged to the women's tennis team (3.54). Other award-winning teams include women's volleyball (3.46), women's cross country (3.40), softball (3.38), women's golf (3.35) and women's soccer (3.33).
