America's Zonecoach Jim Fannin speaks Thursday

America's Zonecoach Jim Fannin to speak at Lewis on October 17

Published: October 11, 2013.

Jim Fannin, known as America's Zonecoach®, will bring his innovative speaking style to Lewis University, as he presents "Coaching the Mindset of Champions" at 7 p.m. Ocotber 17 at The Philip Lynch Theater.

The event, presented by Lewis University Athletics and in conjunction with Lewis' Student Sports Management Association, is free to the public and those wishing to attend may register at www.jimfannin.com/lewisu. Fannin's presentation is sponsored by Scoutware and Loyola Sports Medicine.

Fannin has 40 years of professional coaching, consulting and public speaking experience. He has coached full-time over 600 professional athletes and trained tens of thousands of individuals and hundreds of companies from 50 industries in peak performance.

This Burr Ridge, Ill., resident first gained national prominence when he developed the S.C.O.R.E® system, which not only guides athletes, but major corporations, organizations and their executives, to optimum achievement.

"Having spent 29 years in athletic administration, I was always searching for the answer to the question, "How can you help athletes perform at a higher level?" Lewis Director of Athletics Dr. John Planek said. "I have come to the conclusion through my work with Jim Fannin, that the deciding factor most often in competition is the mental focus and ability to perform under pressure (the Zone) by the winning team.

"The team that gets into the Zone and stays there, wins the contest," Planek continued. "Jim Fannin and his S.C.O.R.E.® System gives you tools to get your team in the Zone."
