Adjustments for Largest Commencement in Lewis' History

Adjustments for Largest Commencement in Lewis' History

Published: May 16, 2017.

Lewis University is celebrating its 100th Commencement, the largest in the University’s history, over the weekend of May 20-21. Congratulations to the 1,000-plus graduates.

The Commencement Coordinating Committee has made some adjustments to accommodate the four guest tickets promised to each of the 700-plus graduates participating in Sunday’s Undergraduate Degree Ceremony.

An alternate viewing location featuring a live stream of the Undergraduate Degree Ceremony in the Neil Carey Arena has been established. Ticketed guests will be directed to the Neil Carey Arena once the Fieldhouse reaches its capacity.

In the event of rain, the President’s Reception for Guests and Graduates (Saturday and Sunday) and Continental Breakfast (Sunday) will be relocated to the University Dining Hall (Charlie’s Place). Otherwise, these events will take place on the University Green and Delahanty Plaza as planned).

In addition, please be advised of the following:

  • Family and friends who cannot attend either of the degree ceremonies this weekend are encouraged to visit www.lewisu.edu/livecommencement to watch the live video stream of the events.

  • Facebook Live will be utilized as the degree ceremonies will be streamed on the Lewis University Facebook Page.

  • Ticketed guests are advised to arrive early. Once the Fieldhouse has reached capacity, ticketed guests will be directed to an alternate viewing location featuring a live stream of the Undergraduate Degree Ceremony in the Neil Carey Arena.
