Lewis Softball's Kaylee Prieto Named To D2CCA All-Midwest Region 2nd Team

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) announced on Monday (May 15) that Lewis University junior outfielder Kaylee Prieto (Chicago, Ill./Marist) has been selected to the D2CCA All-Midwest Region Softball Second Team.

This is the second All-Region honor in a week for Prieto, as she was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Midwest Region Second Team last Wednesday.

The Chicago native topped the Flyers in batting average (.407), runs (42), hits (70), doubles (16), triples (3), total bases (107), slugging percentage (.622) and on-base percentage (.466). The All-Great Lakes Valley Conference First Team selection is in the GLVC Top Five in doubles (3rd), batting average (3rd), runs (t-5th) and hits (5th).

"Kaylee is a great leader who works hard day in and day out," Lewis head softball coach Becky Pearl said. "I'm so proud of her accomplishments!"

Lewis completed the 2017 season with a record of 26-25.
