Tri Beta Biology Honor Society Inducts New Members

On May 2, Beta Beta Beta, the honor society for Biology majors, inducted 30 new members.

Twenty-one associate members were inducted: Eslam Abu-Rezeq, Jacklyn Balog, Sarah Breitzke, Billy Castro, Lillian Catala, Karlie Cummins, Melissa Dudek, Glenn Edburg, Sergio Gonzalez, Matt Grimm, Victoria Jones, Alyssa Large, Rachel Lullo, Braigen Mueller, Dina Nashed, Alvi Renzyl-Cortes, Sara Sanchez, Paige Smith, Carolyn Werr, Abigail Wilczek and Steve Zeko.

Nine students qualified for regular membership in Beta Beta Beta. To become a regular member, students must be a Biology major, have taken no less than three semesters of coursework in the major at Lewis University, and achieved a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the major. Students inducted as regular members were: Kathleen Candler, Anndrea Distor, Jessica King, Christopher Koeller, Alexandra Lockhart, Robert Marker, Kaitlin Mach, Stephanie Nguyen and Victoria Sibalich.

The ceremony was led by President Jenna Saleh, Vice President Thara Abu-Mallouh, Secretary Mario Barrios, Treasurer Lauren Werth, and Historian Abigail Bieker. Several regular members assumed leadership positions. Lauren Werth, president, Emily Richart and Nik Paramo, vice president, Kaetlyn Hernandez, secretary, Cristian Silva, treasurer, and Christopher Koeller, historian.

Finally, Dr. Jennifer Roberts, faculty advisor of Tri Beta, and Dr. Jerry Kavouras, chair of the Biology department, recognized the 19 graduating members of the organization and distributed honor cords to all regular members to be worn at the graduation ceremony. Graduating members of Tri Beta include: Thara Abu-Mallouh, Alyssa Albert, Christen Alcordo, Mario Barrios, Courtney Dial, Angela Dominici, Nada Elsayed, Michelle Fernandez, Kaitlin Hitt, Brianna Hopp, Mary Martino, Shawn Milhauser, Amanda Miller, Stephanie Nielsen, Cailey O’Donnell, Jenna Saleh, Alexa Sanocki, Victoria Sibalich and Emily Vihnanek.
