Lewis Women's Golf Opens Spring Season With Battle at the Beach Victory

Lewis University women's golf opened their spring season with a first place finish Saturday (March 11) at the Battle of the Beach with 630 (316, 314).
The Flyers were led by Rachel Sweeney (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Mountain Vista)
who finished first with 151 (78, 73). Madison Hill (Pekin, Ill./Pekin Community)
(83, 77) and Gabby David (Collinsville, Ill/Althoff Catholic)
(79, 81) tied for third finishing with 160. Melissa VanSistine (Rockford, Ill./Boylan Catholic)
finished in fifth with 161 (78, 83). In sixth was Hannah Schultz (North Prairie, Wis./Mukwonago)
who finished with 167 (81, 86)

continued her sterling play with first place play, leading the Flyers to a top five sweep." Lewis women's head gold coach Skip Steffey
said. "The girls played a great season opening tournament."
Lewis will have their next match on March 18-19 at the SVSU Spring Invitational.
