The planning process was structured to determine how well the physical qualities of the campus currently support the University in its mission, and how it should be changed to better serve those goals in the next decade.
- Analysis — Initially a SWOT analysis was conducted and planning consultants evaluated the physical setting of the campus.
- Observations — Campus pedestrian and vehicle patterns as well as use of buildings and open spaces helped to form a picture that informed subsequent phases of the process.
- Concept Plan — A concept plan was developed to address the needs of the main campus in addition to relationships with the community and the region.
- Final Plan — The final plan includes expansion of buildings, new construction and renovation, as well as the use of existing and future space, incorporating the acquisition of St. Charles Borromeo Pastoral Center. Recommendations for phasing improvements provide a practical strategy to move forward.
