Student ID Cards
ID cards are produced in the main office of University Police. All students must obtain an identification card from the University Police Department. The identification card should be carried at all times, especially when entering campus after normal business hours. Upon request of any University official, the identification card must be presented. Refusal to do so or any attempt at misrepresentation may result in disciplinary action.
University Police will establish dates throughout the school year to travel to the Illinois Regional Campuses on designated nights to produce Student IDs for graduate and adult students. We will advertise to the students the nights the IDs would be produced at each of the sites and University Police/ Security Staff would be at that site on the designated date/times.
If your card is lost or stolen you should notify University Police as soon as possible. In order to obtain a new id card a fee will be added to your student account. This charge can be paid in the business office. Please bring a picture ID with you in order to obtain your new ID.
The Lewis University community offers numerous advantages to students and residents. The community offers a safe and secure learning environment. However, it is not immune to the kinds of problems that occur in the rest of society. Unfortunately, the potential for criminal activity to occur at Lewis University or any Regional Campus is a reality that must be taken seriously.
The University strives to provide a safe and secure environment for students, staff and visitors. However, it is only possible to maintain safety and security when every student, faculty and staff member takes an active part in the effort.
No matter how effective the University's programs may be a crucial and fundamental obligation for safety and security lies with each of us. No police department or set of procedures can be effective unless individuals exercise reasonable care and prudence. Safety and security are everyone's responsibility.
