Center for Health and Counseling Services
Mother Teresa Hall
Struggles with physical and mental health can negatively impact students in all areas of their life, including academics. Recognizing this, Lewis University places a high priority on providing support to empower students to maintain and enhance their physical and emotional health and well-being.
The Center for Health and Counseling Services at Lewis is a short-term treatment facility located in the lower level of Mother Teresa Hall, with a team of licensed professionals including two nurses, consulting physicians, four licensed counselors and support staff.
Students are encouraged to visit the Center's web pages under Student Services at lewisu.edu where they will find a wealth of information including resources and services related to crisis intervention. Services provided are confidential and are free of charge.
Health-Related Admission Requirements
The Illinois College Student Immunization Act (110-ILCS 20) requires ALL students enrolled in six (6) or more credit hours per semester (on the Romeoville campus), to provide written evidence of current immune status with respect to certain communicable diseases. You are required to submit and up to date copy of your immunization (shot) record to the Health Service office here on campus.
Documentation must be submitted to Health Services by the 6th week of the first term enrolled to avoid a non-refundable late fee and a Health Service Hold for future class registration. The Health Service Hold will be removed only after
the required documentation is received. NO EXCEPTIONS.
To obtain current information on the required vaccinations required by the State of Illinois, recommended and health forms, please visit: http://www.lewisu.edu/studentservices/health/healthservices/immunizations.htm
All required documentation can be dropped off or sent to Health Services via mail, fax, or e-mail.
