In January 2014, in response to numerous requests by faculty, Provost Stephany Schlachter announced a pilot program for the Lewis University Student Academic Conference Support Program
for Spring 2014. This program promotes undergraduate and graduate student research by funding travel for presentations at juried disciplinary/research conferences during Spring/Summer 2014. Lewis University faculty scholarship and research is advancing in multiple disciplines. Faculty are also engaging students in this critical work to advance learning. This program will help students to share their accomplishments.
On this site, you will find an overview of the Lewis University Student Academic Conference Support Program
along with student application materials; a list of documentation needed; the acknowledgement of personal responsibility and waiver of liability; and budget forms. Only students who are presenting in Spring or Summer 2014 will be eligible for this pilot program. The Culture of Inquiry Advisory Committee will be vetting the applications. The rubric used by the Committee to evaluate applications is also available on this site.
There will be two application deadlines: February 14, 2014, for Spring presentations, and April 14, 2014, for Summer presentations. All applications with the supporting documentation are to be e-mailed or delivered to Kathy Anderson in the Provost’s Office. Her e-mail address is email@example.com
and the office location is LR G 14.
During Summer, 2014, the pilot program will be assessed for further implementation.
