International Students Requirements

Lewis University accepts international students who have completed secondary-level education with strong academic records. In addition, international students are required to demonstrate proficiency in the English language. Those students who have attended universities abroad and whose instruction was in English may demonstrate proficiency through acceptable English grades documented on official transcripts.

International students who do not possess such experience are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). For admission as an undergraduate or graduate student, the required TOEFL score is 550 on the paper test, 213 on the computer test, and 79-80 on the internet test. Information regarding TOEFL may be obtained by contacting this web site: http://www.toefl.org

International students with less than the required scores may apply for admission to the English as a Second Language (ESL) program. Students must complete all ESL courses through the advanced level with a minimum grade of "C" before beginning a Lewis University undergraduate program.

All international applicants must have official transcripts sent to the University. This includes copies of all secondary and post-secondary transcripts, the General Certificate of Education (GCE) and the original documentation. Any results, certificates, diplomas, or other documentation not in the English language must be translated. Additionally, students applying for advanced studies must include catalogue course descriptions of all university-level courses under consideration for transfer.

All international students are required to present the following documentation:

For Admissions Application:

Upon Arrival:
