International Admission

GRADUATE

Applicants that have received their undergraduate degree from a college or university outside of the United States must have the equivalent of a bachelor's degree to be considered for admission.

GRADUATE APPLICATION

Submit a graduate application with all sections completed. You can download or fill out a graduate application online at www.lewisu.edu/admissions/application.htm.

GRADUATE PROGRAM ADMISSION

Submit all documents needed from your graduate program of choice. You can go to www.lewisu.edu/portals/prospectivegradportal.htm to find each individual graduate program admission process.

OFFICIAL CREDENTIAL EVALUATION

Submit official transcripts from all U.S. schools. Also, submit an official credential evaluation of all foreign colleges or universities. Submit an official evaluation of your secondary school academic records. Send your academic records to Educational Perspectives for an official evaluation. Go to www.edperspective.org for more information and to download the application form. Allow 4-6 weeks for your evaluation to be completed. Be sure to request the course-by-course evaluation report.

TEST OF ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE (TOEFL)

Submit an official score from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). You can go to www.toefl.org to find out more information.

AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT

All international students must provide an Affidavit of Support (Declaration and Certification of Finances Form) from all financial sponsors. The amount being sponsored should be able to cover expenses for your first academic year at Lewis University. A form is provided with the international application. You are also encouraged to use the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services I-134 form located at http://uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/i-134.htm

OFFICIAL BANK STATEMENT

Submit an official bank statement for a proof of financial resources from all sponsors showing the ability to cover expenses for your first academic year at Lewis University. The bank statement cannot be more than 6 months old.

I-20 FORM AND SEVIS FEE

The I-20 form is received after being accepted to Lewis University. The I-20 form is needed to receive a student visa. SEVIS is the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) that is a web-based system for maintaining information on international students and exchange visitors in the United States. Before interviewing for a student visa you must pay a $100.00 USD SEVIS fee by going to www.FMJfee.com.
