Study AbroadFundingLewis students on International Study Abroad-sponsored programs are eligible for all the financial aid they would normally receive if they were taking courses on campus. You should visit the Financial Aid office to enquire how a study abroad program will affect your financial aid package and if you may qualify for any additional aid. The program fees are placed onto your student account and you will be registered for Lewis courses. Program fees, and what those fees include, are posted on the individual program pages. In general, the program fees for the semester and summer programs include tuition, housing, some kind of a meal plan, and any excursions that might be included in the program. Airfare is not included in the program fees for these programs. For Lewis Study Travel programs, the program fees normally include airfare, accommodation, museum entrance fees, and some group meals, but not tuition. In addition to the program fee, you will also be charged a $300 international study abroad fee by Lewis University. This fee will be placed on to your student account as well. The International Study Abroad office strongly encourages you to also seek outside sources to help in funding your study abroad experience. You should keep in mind, though, that the deadlines for funding sources vary greatly, from some requiring application only a few months in advance of the program to others requiring application at least one year before travelling abroad. |
