Study Abroad

Application

Stop by the International Study Abroad office to learn more about studying abroad and pick up an application. You may also download the application, along with the Academic Recommendation forms, on the left hand of this page. Applications will be accepted on a rolling admissions basis until the end of the business day on the deadline date. The program deadlines are:

Fall and summer programs: February 15
Spring programs: September 15
Travel Study programs: Varies. Refer to the program’s web page for the date.

To apply to a Lewis program, you will need to submit the following:

  • Completed application (be sure to include):
    • Your full name as it appears/will appear in your passport
    • Photo (attached to application, 2”x2”, showing face)
    • Application essays

  • Official copy of your Lewis University transcripts (if you are applying to a Travel Study program, unofficial transcripts are acceptable)

  • Two (2) Academic Recommendations (these should be from professors who are familiar with your academic work)
Once you have turned in all of the materials mentioned above, the International Study Abroad office will review your application and make a decision about your acceptance into semester or summer program. You will be promptly notified in writing of the decision. Decisions concerning acceptance into a Lewis Travel Study program will made by the faculty leading the program to which you have applied.

If you are accepted to a Fall, Spring, Academic Year, or Summer program, you will be registered for a one-credit International Experience Seminar course that will help prepare you for studying abroad.
