PRINT JOURNALISM/BACHELOR OF ARTS

The Print Journalism major is designed for students seeking careers requiring sophisticated writing and editing skills in such media as newspapers, magazines and print and electronic publishing, as well as corporate communications. Majors gain experience in all phases of the journalism process. Students develop skills in writing, reporting, editing, layout and design. They also develop technical skills in desktop publishing, photography, electronic publishing, and use of the Internet. In addition, students develop an understanding of and appreciation for the legal and ethical issues surrounding the media in contemporary society. They also have the opportunity to work on The Flyer, the student newspaper.

III. The advanced writing requirement for the Journalism major is fulfilled by completion of 10-411 or 10-412 with a minimum grade of "C."
