Pre-Occupational TherapyOverviewOccupational therapy is significantly different than the P.T. field, though very few individuals have a complete understanding of the differences. In brief, while the P.T. is primarily involved with the physical aspect(s) of the patient’s health, the O.T. helps improve the patient’s ability to perform tasks and “take on life” each day. Currently, there are over 120 master’s degree programs and a few doctoral granting institutions in the field of occupational therapy. Students considering this field should realize that a great breadth of coursework is required at the undergraduate levels and should include biology, chemistry, physics, art, and social sciences, to name a few. |
