- We offer additional academic programs in Forensic Criminal Investigation, Paralegal Studies, and Private Secuity/Loss Prevention for traditional students.
The Department of Justice, Law and Public Safety Studies collaborates with regional public safety agencies to offer our students the most relevant, up-to-date programs possible. We work with the Chicago Fire Academy, the Chicago Police Academy and the DuPage County Sheriff's Office.
Hands-On Learning
Learning doesn't stop at the classroom door. At Lewis, students are active and involved.
- The Fellowship of Justice is a student organization open to all majors in the department. Each year, the Fellowship of Justice organizes a Public Safety Career Day. This impressive event is one of the largest of its kind in the area, with more than 90 federal, state and local agencies represented.
- Lewis' nationally ranked Mock Trial Team provides ideal training for future law enforcement or legal professionals. Students take on the roles of witnesses and attorneys, developing public speaking skills and knowledge of courtroom procedure and the law.
