IV. International Experience (3) Students select 3 credits from the following option(s) or combinations of options. Selected options must be approved by Director of International Business Program. 1. Study Abroad Option (3) Three credit course taken while studying abroad must be approved by Director of International Business Program. 21-120 International Experience Seminar (1) [Offered through Office of International Studies] 2. Study Abroad Project (3) 61-475 Study Abroad Management Project (3) 3. International Internship Option (3) International Experience Travel Study (3) 4. Travel Study Course (3) Three credit course while participating in Travel Study.
V. Language Electives Students majoring in International Business will be required to complete one year of college-level study in a foreign language (or the equivalent).
Student can fulfill the requirement in any one of the following ways: 1. Successfully completing a two-semester language course in the Lewis University Language Program. 2. Transferring to Lewis University the equivalent training from another recognized post-secondary institution subject to University transfer policies. 3. Credits earned for acceptable scores in AP, CLEP, IB or other accepted assessment examinations can apply towards the foreign language requirement. Heritage speakers with formal language training may petition to take a diagnostic test in a particular language. Petitions for a diagnostics test must be approved by both the Director of the International Business Program and the Director of Foreign Languages. Diagnostic text will either:
a. place a student out of the requirement b. diagnose a student as needing one or two additional semesters of college-level study.
