COURSE: 53-481 Secondary Student Teaching (9)|
This course is designed for candidates seeking the Illinois Standard High School Certificate (6-12). Student teachers have total involvement in the participating school system. Progress in developing teaching skills is carefully observed and supervised by the cooperating teacher and University supervisor over a 15 week period. Attendance at student teaching seminars is required. Evidence of successful completion of the appropriate State of Illinois test in the content area must be received in the College of Education at least 30 days prior to the beginning of the student teaching semester in order to be allowed to student teach. Prerequisite: 2.75 GPA; Admission to student teaching; all required methods and field experience course work completed; and a negative TB test on file. Offered: Every semester.
