Undergraduate Course Catalog 2007-2008
LIBERAL ARTS/BACHELOR OF ARTS
Total Credit Hours: 128
The Liberal Arts major is fulfilled by completing the credit hours necessary for two minors; thus, total credit hours will vary.
The Liberal Arts major provides the student with a broad foundation in the arts and/or sciences. For example, the student can study two very different minors, such as Art and Chemistry, or two minors closely aligned but not overlapping, such as Literature and History. Courses in the two minors may not be duplicates. Any two minors in the College of Arts and Sciences may be chosen. Ideally, the combination of the two minors gives the student the opportunity to focus on knowledge pertinent to the student's career or personal enrichment.
Major Credit Hours: Varies
I. A Liberal Arts major selects any two minors from those offered in the College of Arts and Sciences. The consent of each department chairperson is required. The student must take all of the courses designated for the two minors. The student must also complete two upper-division courses in each minor at Lewis University.
II. A Liberal Arts major satisfies the advanced writing requirement in one of two ways: Advanced Writing (06-310) or Writing for the Professions (06-300). A Liberal Arts minor is not offered by the University.
