COURSE: 53-346 Special Methods: Teaching Science in Grades 6-12 (3)
This course deals with methods and approaches to teaching the sciences (biology, chemistry, physics) at the secondary level. Candidates become familiar with recent science education reform proposals and association curriculum and instruction revisions. The course emphasizes effective instructional methods in the laboratory setting. Prerequisite: 2.75 GPA; 53-312; Consent of Education Advisor. This is a pre-service course. Candidates should have completed most of their required major courses prior to taking this class.
