COURSE: 21-204 Spanish for Heritage Speakers (3)
A language maintenance and development course intended for bilingual students who grew up in a Spanish-speaking home and speak or understand the language to some extent, but have not had prior instruction in the Spanish language and want to improve their language skills through formal study. The course focuses on vocabulary development, literacy skills, grammar, reading, and writing, and includes consideration of the relationship between language and culture. Prerequisite: Restricted to heritage speakers of Spanish. Approval of the Coordinator of the Foreign Language Program required. Offered: As needed, RMVL.
