COURSE: 53-392 Pre-Student Teaching Clinical Experiences, Secondary  (3)
This course provides clinical experiences in a middle school or high school setting prior to student teaching. Topics focusing on the relationship between society and middle and high schools, instructional planning, teaching strategies, cooperative and collaborative learning, discipline in the classroom, the middle school philosophy and secondary school trends are discussed. Through practice in presenting content area lessons, students demonstrate knowledge of the major educational theories and models of teaching. A minimum of 50 hours clinical experience are assigned by the College of Education. Prerequisite: 2.75 GPA; Consent of Education Advisor; 53-312. Offered: Fall Only
