has 19 departments offering programs that provide you with
knowledge and experience. In programs that are taught by expert and dynamic
faculty,
you will gain a strong grounding in content, concepts and theory. Our

experiences, and service learning to round out an educational experience
that is rich in intellectual challenge and prepares you for the workplace
and life.
In keeping with the University’s Catholic and Lasallian tradition,
the College purposes are: (1) to foster critical thinking, open inquiry,
precision in thought and expression; (2) to provide students with
the knowledge, attitudes and skills they need for a career and/or
advanced
study; and
(3) to send forth graduates who understand the needs of individuals
and society and feel responsible for contributing to the betterment

ANNOUNCEMENTS
M.S. in
Aviation and Transportation
and
B.S. in Aviation Security
Every year, airlines, railways, ships, and motor vehicles move millions
of people and millions of tons of equipment, products, raw materials,
and even your mail. Since September 11, 2001, the nation’s
focus has been on aircraft and airports. But we now recognize that
all forms of transportation are linked in many ways and share concerns
about the threat of terrorism. We have witnessed how a security alert
in a major city ripples across the country affecting numerous other
municipalities.
Lewis University offers programs in transportation
security at both the Master’s and Bachelor’s level. Students
in The Master
of Science in Aviation and Transportation program can
choose either an administrative or security emphasis. The master’s
degree is designed for students with undergraduate degrees in related
fields and people who have work experience in transportation and
want to move into supervisory positions. The
Bachelor of Science in Aviation Security combines courses in
aviation science and management and criminal justice and is designed
to instruct students in security
measures, the law, and aircraft and airport operations.
