Starting salaries in the accountancy field are quite high, especially in comparison to many other majors starting out upon graduation. Because of the large demand for accounting majors, companies have had to offer higher salary packages. This is particularly true in the large accounting firms where a starting salary of $50,000 is not uncommon.
